ABOUT US

We are a couple with over 60 5-star reviews on TrustedHousitters.com (you can read some of them in the next section) who have been around animals from a young age. Matthew is an American (and Italian) who loves to travel and has had pets since he can remember. Francesca is an Italian who loves cats only slightly more than dogs. We are both fluent in English; Francesca is native in Italian with some French and Spanish as well, and Matthew speaks Italian and some Spanish. We are both trained in the law, and we have been successful in our education and early careers.

After living and working in the United States for several years, we embarked on an adventure that has already taken us to Italy, Canada, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, and hopefully to more places as well! We have had our own communication company, Inco, for more than 5 years. Our work life is flexible enough that we are able to enjoy our passion for cooking, travelling, and spending time with animals of all kinds!

We believe that any home we enter is to be treated with the utmost respect and care. We have made a habit of leaving places cleaner than we find them when we house sit or stay in someone else's property.

Francesca and Matthew were absolutely wonderful. They took excellent care of our fur babies and our home. They sent regular updates/pictures and it was clear how quickly both cats bonded with them.
When Percy came home injured they took excellent care of him - taking him straight to the vets and dealing with giving him medication.

Francesca and Matthew were brilliant from the moment we made contact. They communicated well before the sit so we were confident Luna and Molly would be in safe hands. They made a WhatsApp group for easy messaging as well as daily updates of our cats. We were so happy to see Luna, who can be shy, had warmed to them on day 1! We returned home to a spotless well kept home and even a little present!

Francesca and Matthew were everything you could ever want in a pet sitter. I can not wax lyrical enough about how wonderful they were. From initial contact they were superb. Every day we received photos and updates about our beloved cats, we could tell that the cats were having a total ball and being treated like little princesses. Can't make dog watchers and house sitters better than Francesca and Matthew. House was in top shape and dog was as well. Franci and Matthew were fabulous housesitters, the best we've had-we've had 14!They did everything right, planning, communication, pet care, home care (dealing with several leaky roofs). Such a lovely couple too.

Absolutely the best home and dog sitters ever!

This was the first time that we have had a house or pet sitter and we were so lucky that Francesca and Matthew agreed to sit for us. They came to visit a couple of weeks before the sit which made everything very easy. Excellent communication and updating, very organised and self-sufficient. We arrived home to a very clean and tidy house and I'm sure that when we walked in the cats looked disappointed that we had returned rather than Francesca and Matthew! Lovely people. Francesca and Matthew were fantastic cat and house sitters. From the initial contact and efficient organisation of their trip until they sadly had to leave, they were great. We found Francesca and Matthew to be a lovely couple. They were highly organised, efficient and thoughtful sitters. They came at the arranged earlier time and after listening to our briefing of the house intricacies and the cat's foibles, they clearly managed everything with ease. Contact with them was regular and easy and they sent us photos of Chicory and Peanut in action, our orchids and all sorts! We came back to our cats looking fantastically well, as did the house. Leaving a pet for the first time is always scary. This was the first time we left Cheakamus for more than a weekend. We left her with Francesca and Matthew for 6 weeks. We could not have asked for a better experience. They sent photos and kept us updated a few times a week. They made leaving her as easy as it can be. They sent us videos of her playing. I think she had more fun with them than she does with us!! The house was cleaner than when we left it. They treated our belongings and our fur baby with the utmost care and respect. OUR EXPERIENCE

We have experience both in the United States and Europe helping people taking care of their homes, pets, and kids in case of a trip or an emergency. Some of our recent assignments include: taking care of both cats and dogs during a busy holiday, entertaining two young cats in a major city, and serving as on-call apartment watchers and dog-walkers during a neighbor's hospital stay.

We are very sensitive to both people and animals' needs and emotional states. We adapt very well to different animal personalities and take the time to understand their needs and preferences. We have found that no two animals are exactly alike! We are creative in the way we care for animals as well. It does not feel like work at all, as we enjoy the energy of spending time with our furry companions.

We were both responsible kids in our respective households growing up. Francesca did a great share of the cooking and cleaning at home, while sharing responsibility for care of the cats. Matthew was the primary dog-walker, starting before dawn, and he often took on handyman tasks around the house, from clogged sinks to squeaky doors.

WHY WE WANT TO SIT

We love travelling to new places, but the comfort of home is one aspect that is hard to pack in a suitcase! We enjoy housesitting because it gives the experience of living in a new place while seeing how local residents live. Pets and animals of all kinds remind us of our youth and our homes, and the experience allows us to meet new friends wherever we go, no matter what the language and culture.

We always try to be sure that an assignment is a good fit for both parties. We would like to know about your house, your pets, your neighborhood, and any special considerations that you might have. We want your time away from home to be as free from worry as possible, knowing that your property and your precious animals are in capable hands.
