Hi, we are a mature (ish!) married couple. we relocated to beautiful North Wales in 2020 and (post Covid) found ourselves in the position to take early retirement. We love travelling and exploring new places but have always had cats around the house. Our 'special needs old girl' passed away in 2021 (we got her as a 'Golden oldie' looking for somewhere to spend her last couple of years but she enjoyed 6 wonderful years with us). We have decided not to get another cat of our own for now but do miss the furry, purry company! We both had CRB checks as part of our work requirements and also for befriending volunteering in our village. I used to work for a Housing Association and Chris had a career in Transport, including management. Before retiring he worked part-time driving for a large supermarket. We have used HouseSittersUK very successfully for several years and we have met some wonderful people. We have always had contented pets on our return. Since moving we have been lucky enough to return the sitting and have made new furry friends. We think this is a great scheme and the best thing for your pets whilst you are away. As well as a lifetime's experience with cats, we've also kept chickens and tropical fish and more recently have become the 'emergency go to' for friends dog sitting (see pictures). Although we are absolute 'cat people' we would would be happy to consider sits with older, calm dogs now we have waggy friends too.
