Lucy & Matthew

Hello there, I’m Lucy, I’m 27 and I live in Glasgow with my partner Matt, also 27. We are both kind and reliable individuals who would take great care of someone else’s home.

While we’ve never house sat for strangers before, we do have a wealth of experience house/pet sitting for friends and family and are regular AirBnB users where we’ve always looked after the accommodation well. We would love to build on this experience in a way that allows us to meet new people, fuss over new animals and explore new places. We also have a large collection of house plants and consider ourselves quite green-thumbed when it comes to indoor jungles so would be delighted to help look after yours when you’re away.

We are both huge animal lovers but unfortunately aren’t able to have any pets right now due to our lines of work. I’m a hydrographic surveyor (someone who makes maps of the seafloor) and I currently work in offshore renewables - I go away for a few weeks at a time and then I come home for a few weeks at a time. Matt also works at sea as he is in the Navy so between us we spend a lot of time away! As a result, we unfortunately don’t have the time to look after any of the pets we would so desperately like. I think being able to housesit, and especially pet sit, would be a fantastic way to fill the animal shaped hole in our lives. We both have experience looking after cats and dogs and Matt’s family also have a tortoise (George, age unknown).

I have selected ‘Single’ as the sitter type as, while we would both love to do this together every time, it is likely that it will just be myself that’s available for most house sitting jobs. But for full transparency I have also added Matt’s name on the off chance he’d be able to join me.
