James is a personal trainer and private tutor, originally from Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺, and resident in the UK since 1998. Formerly an army officer and independent school Head of Department (History, Politics, Classics - Latin and Greek).
Joe 🇬🇧 is a medical student, originally from the Yorkshire Dales.
Although relatively new to this site, we have house-sat informally and extensively for friends and family, both in the UK and in Australia. We know what it takes to put (and keep!) your mind at ease. 💯
More formally, we have in the last 3 years been allocated properties by commercial companies to look after as our sole concern in the role of Property Guardians ⚔️. This is, of course, a highly-responsible and heavily-vetted role and has further equipped us with insights as to the characteristics of a first-rate house sitter.
One ready means of demonstrating our combined experience in caring for pets is to list our own pets that we've loved 💕 and cared for personally over the years:
James: several dogs (Border Collie, Alsatian), one Siamese cat, a white rabbit 🐇, a white rat🐁, axolotls, goldfish, and a diamond python that adopted me!
Joe: several dogs (Springer Spaniel, Beagle, Lurcher), hamsters, guinea pigs, a rabbit, a ferret, goldfish and tropical fish.
When it comes to plants and gardens, we're also super experienced. James is a long term gardener and specialises in cottage and herb gardens 🌱🌿💐. Another budding interest for James lies in carnivorous plants and cacti 🌵. Joe takes a great interest in indoor plants 🪴🎋 and has developed large and healthy collections in the past. We're both avid outdoor and nature fans, so we've got all the bases covered!

Couple
Lovely people who really appreciated Lil and the quiet setting, and Lil absolutely loved them and their affection for and care of her.. She'll be so excited to see them come back for a second sit - there'll be no end of joyful bouncing and squeaking (from Lil, not necessarily the boys). And they were also careful and respectful of the annexe and appreciative of access to the car for short trips out.. Will be great to see them again. Thanks, Joe and James!
