I'm a country living retiree with many interests like the natural world and gardening but also architecture and art. I'm someone who is quiet and calm, spending time alone does not bother me. I'm someone who loves to learn something new and I have always loved travel. Housesitting gives me the opportunity to do many of the things I enjoy whilst doing something useful. I like caring for all sorts of homes, quirky ones included.
I like to explore new places, and find it's so different when you actually stay there as. I like to meet new people but mostly I love having the company of pets, even the aloof ones. I especially like cats with personality, well they all have but you know what I mean. I've also cared for fish toroises and chickens.
I've been a housekeeper in a retreat centre and cared for holiday cottages so have lots of experience of caring for homes too.
I also have a real love of gardening and houseplants.
I guess I'd say I love life. I've cared for all sorts of homes from small terraces to large country houses and can appreciate them all as 'home' for you and your pets.

I'm very grateful to Jane, who I believe looked after Lila very well. She certainly seemed happy and well-fed on my return - I just hope she didn't wear Jane out with her demands to play with 'Mousie', her favourite toy! Jane seemed to cope well with being in unfamiliar surroundings and left the house clean and in good order. I'd have no hesitation in recommending Jane to other cat owners or welcoming her back if she was free to sit for Lila on another occasion.

Jane is a friendly lady whom has looked after my 3 Cats and home Exceptionally. On my return the house was immaculate and the cats calm and content. It was joy to know they had been looked after so well. Good communication between myself and Jane was excellent and I hope she will return to look after the Cats and home again. Thankyou Jane I couldn't do what I do with the people who advertise their services on the Housesitters web page

We were delighted to meet Jane the evening before we left for our Big Trip...a month in China and Tibet. We were delighted when we returned to find everything as it should be. She and Missey [our very elderly cat] had developed a relationship and, although she was pleased to see us back, she was obviously very happy with her new sitter.
