I have experience looking after horses, sheep and goats having lived in rural NZ in my early years.
25, Geohazard Analyst/Volcanologist
Kia ora!
My name is Libby. I'm a kiwi hailing from Wellington, NZ where I was a volcanologist and geohazard analyst for GNS science and I am currently bikepacking my way around Iceland and Scotland. My partner is completing his PhD at Oxford and I am hoping to spend some time in the area intermittently. This as well as my love of animals makes pet sitting the perfect solution!
I have experience pet sitting for cats, dogs and chickens (see my photos for pictures of Priness Rosie, she was a beautiful needy cat who desired attention at all times, beautiful Ruru, a corgi who loves butt scratches and hated birds and Harper, a friendly drooling pup who consistently required excavation of her ball from under the couch). Please feel free to request a reference from their owners here in NZ!
I have a cat (Tinkerbell) and a dog (Ziggy, pictured smiling on a walk amongst the flowers), both of which my parents are caring for while I am away. I also have experience with fish keeping having had two Corydora Catfish and a school of Tetras. I know alot about caring for fish including how to look out for common diseases and parasites such as Ich, Flukes, Dropsy and more.
I am an avid gardener and plant keeper, with a particular penchant for rainforest plants and ferns. I also love to read and have made space in my limited packing list for a kindle. Reading in the garden with a cat on my lap is my happy place.
I cannot provide a consistent number through my profile so once we are in touch I may be able to provide a better means of communication.
