Single49, English Teacher
Hi, I'm a 49 year old English teacher originally from New Zealand, but now based in Lancashire.
I've spent the last 19 years teaching English in various parts of the world (every continent covered except Antarctica!), building a network of students for my online teaching/tutoring business. Before I moved into English teaching, I spent several years working as a Matron in various well-known UK boarding schools such as Roedean and Gordonstoun.
I'm a mature, responsible, personable (but not particularly social) professional who would treat every house as I do my own. At this stage of my life, I'm happy with my own company or that of animals - particularly those that entice me away from the laptop occasionally! Because I have a business to run, I'll not only behave like a working professional in your house rather than someone just on holiday, but I'll be at home most of the time so I can spend more quality time with your pets.
So far, housesitting has given me the chance to experience places in a far more personal way than I could by staying in hotels or hostels - a great travel experience without having to live out of a suitcase or backpack. Ideally I'm looking for a house sit where I have some affectionate animals for company and where I can indulge my passion for outdoor activities (British weather permitting).
*Please note*: I don't have a car so sits in areas that aren't serviced by public transport or have supermarkets within walking distance would be a struggle for me!
Andrea was an excellent house sitter - really a brilliant find! She took great care of my house and dear cat Wolfgang, which was very reassuring for me throughout the three months. Andrea arrived two days before we left which meant there was lots of time to get to know Horace and Ernie and acquaint herself with the house and surrounding area. She dealt very calmly with a major domestic drama that was completely beyond her control. She stayed on for a further couple of days on our return and it was clear that both dogs absolutely adored her. She kept the house spick and span. Andrea has many years experience of house sitting and we have no hesitation in recommending her.

We met Andrea before we left for our trip. She was very personable and seemed very confident and capable. The cats both took to her straight away, so we had no worries about leaving her to look after the cats and our house while we were away.
The house and garden were well looked after ( despite the hot dry weather), and the cats were both happy and healthy on our return. Communication was great, Andrea kept us updated on the house sit by email.

Andrea is a very experienced house sitter and settled in well at our house. She looked after our remaining chicken and watered our garden so that everything was in good shape when we came back from an extended stay away.
She managed our post for us and kept us up to date with what was happening at home.

Andrea was very flexible and ended up staying longer than I originally requested as I had the option to be away longer. I was very grateful for this and for the care and attention she provided to my cat. The house was well looked after and plants were watered. She even cut my grass. I would not hesitate to have Andrea house sit for me again.
Andrea has been a fantastic house sitter. Going away for over 3 months, it is important to have someone who cares well for our pets (cats, horses) and the house and Andrea did exactly that. She is very good with animals and the house was well looked after and clean and tidy when we returned. Andrea communicates well and responds timely on emails. Andrea stayed at our house while we were visiting family and took great care of our cat. She was really attentive to his needs and we came home to a happy kitty!
Andrea is excellent, her wide experience making her adaptable & responsive. She managed our cottage and high energy dog for 4 months giving us complete peace of mind. She is organised, in touch by email, phone and great Zoom calls. In December 2020 I was looking for a house sitter and fortunately, Andrea was able to fulfill the role at very short notice. Her communication was great, the whole process of her getting settled in was a breeze. As I was pleased with Andrea for the initial month, I was happy for her to stay on past Winter. Andrea was a great sitter for our house and cats. She got on with the job without any fuss.
We pre-agreed communication frequency and she contacted us as soon as she thought there may have been a problem with one of the cats. He was fine thank goodness.
On our return the house was clean and well looked after.

Andrea was very nice to meet. Kept me updated on Daisy and her routine, who looked very well, happy and content when I returned. My home was kept lovely , clean ,tidy and cosy .
