Kind and responsible writer and animal lover.

39, Medical Writer

**Please note, my availability for the remainder of 2024 is from 12th to 30th December. I hope to find a sit in Scotland during this time, to enable me to spend Christmas day with my family. Thank you**

INTRODUCTION

Hello and thank you for visiting my profile! I'm Jenny, a quiet and conscientious animal lover from Glasgow, who has grown up with rescue dogs (specifically, Jack Russells).

I am a psychology graduate, and work remotely as a writer (hence, my lengthy profile!) I have relished the opportunity to stay in some beautiful, scenic locations as a house sitter and explore more of the UK.

I am super organised, minimalist, eco-friendly (and mindful of rising energy costs!) and have been vegan for almost 6 years. I do not smoke nor drink alcohol (but make up for this by consuming excessive quantities of dark chocolate!)

I respect the homes of other people and recognise the trust involved in inviting someone to look after your property. I strive to leave a house in the same (or better) condition as I find it. I am one of those people who love cleaning, so this is a joy for me! I believe house sitting should be an easy and positive experience for both parties, and my aim is to make sure the home owners are as worry-free as possible while they are away from home, keeping in regular contact and accommodating their circumstances as much as possible.

I have my own car and am more than happy to transport pets in it!

WHY I WANT TO HOUSE AND PET SIT

Quite simply, I love it! I adore the companionship of animals, getting to know their unique personalities and building a loving bond. I also enjoy building friendships with home owners and have been invited back for repeat sits on several occasions. I am delighted to have met some incredible people and animals during my house sitting adventures.

Where possible, I make every effort to visit home owners and animals prior to the sit, to ensure you are comfortable your animals and home will be well looked after and can go on your travels without a care in the world!

MY EXPERIENCE

I have been house sitting for several years (since 2019) privately, through various sites and for a local dog boarding business. I have also had dogs of my own. My sits have ranged from a week to several months and have included maintaining a large B&B when it was closed during the winter months. I have experience with small, medium and large dogs and have frequently looked after animals with specific healthcare needs and who require medication and/or supplements. I absolutely adore cats and have looked after many in my time as a sitter (a lady at a previous sit referred to me as the 'cat whisperer'!) I also have experience with poultry, which I loved and would welcome the opportunity to repeat.

Especially when looking after dogs, I do not leave the home for hours at a time to explore the surroundings (unless I am able to take the dogs with me). I prioritise being present for the animals, maintaining a sense of stability and routine while their humans are away!

Nowadays, my sits are predominantly for regular clients with whom I've built a relationship, but I occasionally apply for a new sit that piques my interest. I am particularly interested in longer term sits.

Please note, I am more than happy to provide references from other house sitting sites which I operate through more frequently, as well as my Airbnb profile, if required.

Reviews (1)
This was our first time using a house sitter. I would unequivocally say we were truly lucky in finding Jenny to look after our cats, hens and house for two months when we were in New Zealand. Jenny reassured us completely from the very beginning, She came for a visit to meet us before we left, and after a good chat and cup of tea, we were 100% happy in leaving our home in her care. Jenny always kept us updated on any house issues and an update on our cats and hens. The photos were not only ... MORE
