We are an English ex-pat family working in education in Bahrain. Non-smokers. Love pets.

I am John. I am 66 years old and retired in June 2023. I worked as a Special Needs teacher, and also taught Drama and Public Speaking. My wife Sharon is an Art Teacher at another school in Bahrain, and also a freelance artist and furniture restorer.

We exercise every day by walking dogs on the nearby beach, using our own gym and swimming. We have two rescue dogs, including a desert dog, two rescue cats and a tortoise.

We first housesat in three locations in 2015 but have returned only briefly to UK since then. The sits were very successful. We did one housesit in UK in summer 2023, which was wonderful. In January/February this year I sat a lovely, large B&B in Scotland.

As I am retired I am not bound by term times etc so can be available most of the year, with my wife joining me during summer holidays and any other holiday period.

John is an absolutely lovely, easy-going guy and he took fantastic care of our house and our hens. Over the three weeks, he left regular voice messages to let us know that everything was A-OK, which was incredibly reassuring. Hopefully he will be able to house/hen-sit for us again.

So lovely to have met John and have him to look after our house......and bees ! We enjoyed his voice message recording when we were away and happily felt he was all in control.
