Hello, we are Susan and Karl, a practical, reliable, trustworthy, experienced, friendly and caring couple. We are non-smokers, who enjoy walking, exploring new areas and we work very well as a team. This summer (in our reliable car) we plan to house sit and see some of UK's beautiful areas, exchanging our services for the chance to stay and care for your home, pet/s and plants. We are good communicators and happy to send regular photos, email and videos and also accommodate your requirements to assure that all is taken care of in your absence.

Our Info
We normally live in Melbourne, Australia and over the years we and our children (now two grown-up sons) enjoyed having a variety of pets, including a lovely German Shepherd x Labrador dog, rabbits,
chickens and a guinea pig.
Due to family circumstances we have travelled back and forth to the UK for a number of years. Over time we have had a variety of jobs and gathered many useful skills. We have personally renovated and maintained our family homes and gardens.

We are both retired and very active

Susan is 65 and has a Permaculture Design qualification and loves gardening, growing and fermenting food. During her stays in the UK she worked as a part-time Kitchen Showroom Assistant in the Solihull area (reference available).
Susan’s work history includes: Graphic Designer, Teacher, Academic Secretary for a well known Australian University, Production Assistant for a Travel Wholesaler, Care Worker in the aged and disability sector.

Karl is 69, and has worked as a Mechanic Specialising in Hydraulics at a large German company and later as a Computer Technical Officer at a prestigious Australian University. He has spent his last working years as a Masseur and Disability Carer.

Susan and Karl did an excellent job looking after our house and old dog. Communication was good up to, during and after the house sit. We met then at the start of the house sit and they are a charming couple, very practical and confident. They got on very well with Major our dog and the photos they sent showed him very comfortable indeed. It was a reassuring feeling to be able to leave for our holiday knowing that things would be looked after.

Susan and Karl looked after our home and pets with great care. They communicated with us easily and were very flexible. They were able to follow instructions about how to best care for our home and pets. We came home to a clean home but most of all very happy pets. Thank you both.

This is our first experience using house/animal sitters we found online. Suzi and Karl took excellent care of our house in Cambridge, one dog and three cats for ~ 10 days in July/August 2023 and we were entirely happy with them and the experience in every way. I’m so happy that Susan and Karl came to sit for my cat Lucy. Susan took the trouble to meet me in advance which was lovely and meant I could introduce Lucy to her before the sit. Susan and Karl are very warm, caring, and trustworthy people and I could see straight away that Lucy was comfortable with them. Susan and Karl are a delightful couple who were very keen to learn all about Charlie and Archie, their daily routine and also any specific requirements about the house and garden.
