Hello,

I am looking for pet sitting opportunities, to spend time caring for animals, alongside exploring different places.

I believe that all animals, like human beings, have intrinsic value and deserve to be treated with respect, kindness, and love. It is my mission in life to make a difference in this world and I believe that pet sitting is one of the small, but very important, ways in which I can do this.

Growing up with a variety of animals, including dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and fish, I have a deep love of caring for others that I am eager to share. I have experience of looking after not only my own animals, but also pet sitting for family and friends, as well as through Kiwi House Sitters.

In addition to pet sitting, I have volunteered as an Animal Caretaker at kennels, catteries and five different animal sanctuaries, including:

- Duster’s Ark Animal Sanctuary (UK)
- The Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary (NZ)
- Te Paranui Animal Sanctuary (NZ)
- The Animal Sanctuary (NZ)
- My Lovely Pig Rescue (Ireland)

During my time as an Animal Caretaker, I was responsible for looking after a wide range of different species, including: dogs, cats, sheep, pigs, cows, donkeys, horses, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits and even a little blue penguin!

My tasks ranged from: cleaning enclosures, feeding and exercising the animals, monitoring and reporting any signs of abnormal behaviour or physical changes in animal health, supporting staff during vet visits and treatments, and administering medications myself.

To compliment this, I studied Animal Welfare and Society at University in the UK and I have a Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Animal Care, after completing a dog grooming apprenticeship.

I am a lover of tranquillity, and in my spare time, as well as volunteering with and caring for animals, I enjoy yoga, meditation, reading and immersing myself in the beauty of nature. I am also a very keen nature photographer and enjoy baking, cooking, knitting and crochet.

I have often been described as reliable, kind, patient, and a good time keeper. I am open to looking after animals of any kind and of any age and I am confident I will be able to accommodate their needs and interests, including medication if required.

As well as taking care of your animals, I will of course keep your home clean and tidy! I drive and have my own vehicle so I am able to reach more remote locations.

From first contact Olive gave me great confidence. She was open, friendly and ready to provide any information /references I required. Olive arrived with some presents for Poochie, our cat and she fitted in straight away. Olive and Rich were extremely professional and competent and we would have no hesitation in recommending them. Pendle (5 year old lab) and Jess ( 15 year old cat) were clearly very relaxed in their company and we were sent lovely photos of them being cared for with great kindness and affection. Olive is exceptionally personable, calm and willing. She kept our spaniel, Oscar, very happy, and better behaved than ever! She updated us with photographs and videos while we were away. Olive was perfect in every way. A true animal lover and all round lovely, trustworthy person. Sent me regular updates about my cats, one of whom was quite elderly and on medication. I had no worries about her at all and would highly recommend her to anyone. I had complete peace of mind while away for 2 weeks and she left the house tidier than I left it. Olive was the perfect cat sitter for Biscuit and Coco. She obviously loves animals which was apparent as soon as she arrived at my home. Both my cats love to have company so it was a relief to leave them in such good hands. Olive's communication is excellent with regular updates and photos. The house was immaculate when I arrived home, I could not have asked for more. I would highly recommend Olive and would be very happy to have her sit for Biscuit and Coco again.
