SingleI have looked after pets and homes for family members, friends, neighbours and their friends over many years, especially in the West Country. I've cared for up to 3 dogs at a time including lively collies and labs, rescue dogs with their own foibles and elderly dogs. Have cat sat regularly too.
I'm now enjoying "spreading my wings" and doing this in other regions of the country as well.
I will do all I can to reassure and comfort people's pets if they seem upset when the owner first leaves. I love walking, all the more so with a dog for company, and have honed my ball throwing skills with the collie especially. I relish seeing dogs having fun, whether in the park, on a beach, by a river or in woods.If it's a quiet potter round the streets for an older dog, I understand the importance of frequent stops for sniffing too.
I'm mostly retired/work freelance occasionally so have lots more free time now Non-smoker and car driver . Have a basic gov.uk DBS check and have public liability insurance for walking dogs..Other references can be supplied as well as reviews on this site
Well I feel very lucky to have found Cathy. She was excellent. Both dogs absolutely loved her and she’s so so lovely. We are really hoping she can sit again in the future.
Cathy was a perfect house and dog sitter - George our dachshund loved her and she kept the house perfectly and communicated exactly as you would want x we will hopefully see her again!
Very happy to recommend Cathy for house and pet sitting. Cathy took care of our Labrador and cat over new year, taking our lab for lovely long walks despite the wet and windy weather. Communication was great before and during the sit. Cathy left the house clean and tidy. We hope Cathy will sit for us again in future.
We would recommend Cathy. Our house and pets were really well looked after. The only reason for a 4 star for communication is that Cathy will say herself some modern technology such as Whatsapp or video calling is outside of her experience. She kept in touch by text though and this was fine.
Cathy did a wonderful job looking after our 2 dogs and 1 cat. One dog is 17.5 and she cared for him with great empathy and kindness, the other had a wonderful time with her and didn't want her to leave. I would definitely recommend Cathy to anyone wanting their dogs looked after with great care and affection. 5 Stars for all aspects of her stay.
Had a couple of zoom meetings prior to the visit to talk over arrangements. Cathy was calm, professional and kind. Considering she had never seen our home or met our pets before arriving she coped with it all so well. She was very kind to our pets and really looked after them. Cathy was a complete star. She stayed for nearly 2 weeks and then stayed a couple of nights after we returned as she was in between house sits. The house was left very neat and tidy and she made us a delicious lemon cake on our return. We have two lurcher and 2 cats and they all loved her. Cathy was an excellent pet and house sitter who we thoroughly recommend. This was our first time to use a pet sitter and we were delighted to leave our large Gordon setter Dorcha in such capable hands. Cathy and Dorcha formed a strong bond and enjoyed multiple daily walks together in the surrounding countryside. We met Cathy before the required sit and instantly knew Chester would be in great company. She took time to visit the house and find out Chesters needs (attention and food!) beforehand and we went away without any concerns.
Chester is definitely missing his new friend since we have returned.

Cathy was a fantastic house and dog sitter. She really bonded and took care of our little dog Phoebe and gave her lots of attention. Cathy kept the house beautifully and even had a cake and flowers for us when we arrived. Would highly recommend Cathy for dog and house sitting.
