Hello there
We are experienced, conscientious pet sitters.
We have current DBS checks which we can send you a copy of on request.
We are available for long-term or weekend-length pet and house sits in London and Greater London, as well as potentially surrounding areas such as Buckinghamshire. Berkshire, Hertfordshire, and Surrey (if not too long a drive to Andy's workplace).
The love and care we give pets as well as consistent communication with their owners (such as daily updates / videos etc.), have made us popular pet sitters, with people asking us to do repeat sits. We receive consistently excellent reviews.
The reviews listed on this site do not fully illustrate the extent of our experience as we also do sits via another website and can supply additional examples and references on request.
Sits include a six-week housesit in Chiswick, pet-sitting two West Highland terriers in Teddington (we have been asked back to do multiple dog sits including in the owner's property near Cannes), caring for three cats in Hackbridge, a 10-month house-sitting stint for homeowners in the village of Bellingdon, Buckinghamshire with a very large section to maintain, two-months in a large Teddington house, and caring for a beautiful, large, Georgian house in Chiswick for six weeks.
If you would like to have a preliminary conversation to assess our suitability, please do get in touch.
Please note in any photos where animals are on couches etc. - the owners were happy for them to be there. If you instructed us to keep your pets off them / furniture / beds / or out of specific areas, we would ensure that happens.
Looking after and providing pets with affection is rewarding and a responsibility we take very seriously. We are comfortable giving injections or tablets to animals, having done so during numerous pet sits.
We both grew up with pets and understand their ways and needs as best humans can.
A variety of cats have been cared for including nervous rescue cats, pure breeds (including Persians requiring daily combing), a diabetic ginger needing twice-daily injections etc., all while providing food, grooming, attention, play, and affection. It is rewarding when cats learn to trust us, let their guard down, and jump onto our lap (or settle near us if not a 'lap cat').
Dogs instinctively respond very positively and want to engage with us.
Andy and I are gentle-natured and animals, including dogs, can generally sense we are not a threat.
We love connecting with dogs, taking them for walks, helping them let off steam, playing with them, and bonding. It's rewarding to gain theirs- or any animal's - trust and affection. Dogs' energy, inherently loving nature, and unrelenting optimism is infectious.
Andy: Growing up I had a fox terrier called Sandy. That's where my love of dogs started. I like their companionship and affectionate nature. I had a cat of my own called Bo (a rescue cat), which helped me develop a strong connection with cats.
Laura: I grew up with a cat and then had two of my own as an adult. Pet sitting is an opportunity to connect with cats again as well as dogs and other animals.
Reassurance your home and pets are being cared for is important and we always send owners updates, generally via WhatsApp, with photos and videos. We can do that daily or regularly, whichever gives you peace of mind.
Experience: We've been pet and house sitting intermittently for the last few years and have reviews from another pet / house sitting site as well as those on here. Below are just some of those sits:
Since August 2023 we have completed short-term sits, looking after cats, dogs, and chickens. Prior to that, here are some of those we've completed:
July - August 2023 Six-week housesit
July 2023 Cared for an Irish Terrier for nearly two weeks
June-July 2023 Cared for a poodle cross for three weeks in Wellington, New Zealand
March 2023 Cared for a labradoodle for a week in Wellington, New Zealand
Dec 2022 - Jan 2023 Cared for two cats in Wellington while their owners were on holiday
Dec 2021 - Jan 2022 We looked after a labrador and cat in Tauranga, New Zealand (that was via another pet sitting website)
July 2021 Laura looked after two cats in Chiswick (and has done multiple sits over two years with Andy as well as by herself for its owners who’ve become firm friends)
July 2020 - March 2021 We did a house sit in Bellingdon, Buckinghamshire, which started at the beginning of July 2020 and finished in March 2021
Dec 2019 - Jan 2020 We did a two-month sit caring for two lovely cats. Following that, we looked after a large home in Teddington, Greater London, keeping it well-maintained and secure. We then looked after two young cats in Chiswick (see review on this site)
Prior to that we did other short-term pet sits
We will ensure your house and valuables are kept as safe as possible. We own a property in Wellington, New Zealand, and can be relied on to keep yours secure in the same way we did our own (now rented out and looked after by a property manager). For example, we can ensure alarms are on, clean and maintain the interior, clean up pet 'messes', do light gardening, collect mail, open and close curtains, ensure windows are properly closed and secure, and put lights on to show the property is inhabited.
Why do we want to pet and house sit? We sorely miss having our own pets. Bonding with animals is rewarding and a privilege and puts a smile on our faces.
Pet and house sitting can also give us at times the opportunity to experience and explore numerous environments and areas from city to suburban to country, leaving us with great memories.
Outstanding references can be supplied on request.
We hope to hear from you soon.
Laura and Andy
