I enjoy the reciprocal nature of house sitting. I find it can be a nice way to spend quality time in a particular place; whilst enabling home owners to go away with the peace of mind that someone is looking after their property and or pets.
I've been a house and pet sitter since 2013, so have plenty of experience.
I offer a calm, practical approach and am reliable and conscientious. An awareness that staying in someone else's home is a privilege, so looking after that and any pets as if they were my own is a priority.
I really enjoy the company of animals and have owned cats and dogs since childhood.
I initially trained as a Physiotherapist, but eventually decided to return to University to do a Fine Art degree. I now put Artist as my profession on my tax return!
I paint and draw seascapes, landscapes and mountains. I'm mainly drawn to rural places; but also love the buzz of a creative city, as book shops, museums and gallaries are a particular treat.

With clear communication from the outset and a timely arrival, we enjoyed supper and Bake Off (!) before we left the following morning (really useful that Amanda did both an afternoon and morning routine with us). We were able to enjoy our time away knowing the animals and our home were being well cared for and even with the first two big storms of 2024 blowing through the West Country during our absence, we knew that Amanda’s level head would see a ‘no drama’ approach to any damage caused. ... Amanda looked after Errol and the croft wonderfully, keeping an eye on the ducks and hens, even dealing with an escaped sheep! Errol was very calm and happy when we got back and everything was well cared for. It would be great to have Amanda back in the future when we are away.

Amanda is an excellent house and cat sitter. She is totally reliable and took the task of looking after our home and pets extremely seriously, so we came home to a perfect house and happy cats. She kept us updated while we were away. Amanda took the trouble to come early so we had time to show her the ropes and it meant we had a lovely evening with her. We feel very lucky to have both met her and had her as our housesitter.
