LOOKING FOR HOUSESITS IN UK FROM February 8 - 29.

Gilles and I are retired from the Canadian federal government. For the past twenty years, we lived in our own home in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. The last of our cats passed away early 2023, and we’re taking the opportunity of being “empty nesters”, to do some travelling. We have had a couple of house sits closer to home, with HousesittersCanada, and it went well. Our experience has come from keeping gold fish in our pond over a number of years, and in an aquarium in the winter, taking care of friends’ and neighbours’ dogs, and caring for our cats. We had five cats over the last 20 years.
For our accommodation, we need at least a queen-sized bed and we would prefer a house sit within a town or city, since we would need to be able to walk or travel by public transportation to shop and sightsee. We are quiet people, generally we watch television or read in the evenings. We’ll take care of your pets and home as if they were our own.

Sharon went above and beyond our expectations in all categories . She came to meet us and the dogs before the sit,, so that we would feel more comfortable . Her communication and kindness were excellent . We could see the dogs were very comfortable . She sent pictures , and kept us updated . The house was shining , and all the garden work was done when we arrived home . We certainly hope she will come back . She is excellent ,and such a warm nice person .

Sharon is a lovely lady who looked after our fur babies and our lake home as if they were her own. We returned to a clean orderly home and a bunch of happy animals. Sharon even changed the bedding in our bed so we have fresh sheets at our return! Sharon communicated with us when needed and sent us a few pictures. It was a pleasure to meet Sharon and Gilles. They are very warm and friendly people. I instantly felt at ease after meeting them and knew that my cat Lucy was in caring hands whilst I was so far away. We were in contact regularly and I returned home to a happy cat and well cared for home. I would recommend Sharon and Gilles as sitters and would welcome them as Lucy’s sitters again if the opportunity arises. Thank you both.

Sharon and Gilles are the absolute best. They took better care of my house than I can with two young ones. They even took the initiative to fix things up (loose toilet seat, remove dead trees, and more) and my cat wanted for nothing. It was a privilege to have found people of this caliber.
