Todmorden England

I am looking for someone to house sit and care for my 14 year old cat, Tallulah. She’s a house cat but likes to venture onto the patio in warmer weather. She’s quite a nervous cat but very affectionate and loves her tummy rubs. She’s pretty low maintenance though. Sleeps most of the day and as long as she’s being fed (she loves her food), she’s happy.

I live in a terraced house in the market town of Todmorden, West Yorkshire. It’s a friendly, quirky community which prides itself on its ethos of “kindness”. It has several fantastic pubs, restaurants and independent shops and 3 supermarkets. The property is elevated and has several steep steps, so isn’t suitable for anyone with mobility problems. I live very close to the Rochdale canal, in Walsden, approximately 20 mins walk into Todmorden. Walsden train station is a 5 minute walk away and goes to Manchester in one direction and Leeds in the other. Hebden Bridge is approx 4 miles from where I live and is on the same train line to Leeds. Very popular with tourists, especially after being featured on Happy Valley. The charming town of Haworth is approx 30 mins drive away and definitely worth a visit. It is famous for its connection to the Bronte family.

I am surrounded by hills, so there’s plenty of scenic walks right on my doorstep. Stoodley Pike and Gaddings Dam are two places of interest, close by.

It’s a 3 storey property, so you will be sleeping in a double room at the top of the house. This is furnished with a sofa bed and wardrobe. All bedding and towels will be provided, although you’re welcome to bring your own. Bathroom is on the second floor and this contains a double shower. basin and toilet. Downstairs, there’s a small kitchen, with all the usual appliances and a living room with a 2 seater sofa, armchair, tv and a multi fuel fire. Property has a smoke alarm and a carbon monoxide detector. There is a small outside patio at the front of the property and shared lawned garden to the rear.
