Buster. 10 year old Jack Russell terrier seeks companion while I'm away for approximately a week each month.
He lives in a 2 storey flat on the high street of a busy and thriving market town in the Peak District. Sitters will have use of the guest bedroom, living room/lounge, kitchen and bathroom.
The village is a thriving community with cafés, shops, a Post Office, pubs, restaurants, an independent cinema and great local walking.
There are bus services to Bakewell, Matlock, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Buxton, Derby and Nottingham and train links at Matlock, Chesterfield and Sheffield.
Nearby are Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and many other attractions.
I got Buster from an animal sanctuary in March 2022 as an 8 year old Jack Russell terrier.
He's nervous around children so wouldn't suit a family sit.
He can be reactive to other dogs but he's much improved and has an increasing number of dog friends. He is still a unpredictably reactive at times and is walked muzzled.
I generally walk him for up to sixty minutes daily but he also enjoys a good yomp.
He's a very affectionate little dog but needs someone calm, confident, assertive and who's used to terriers and won't let him just do whatever he likes all the time.
Breakfast is between 7 and 9am. Supper around 5.30-6pm.
He has some medications but is fit and well.
I take him out and about as much as I can but he's used to being left alone up to 4hrs - but you might get looked at.
If longer, he is used to neighbours or a local dog walker.coming in to toilet/walk him as necessary.
I have some houseplants which will need watering.
