64, Retired
FUNLOVING, RELIABLE, NON SMOKING .
I am 64 and have always owned at least one cat all my life. My last two cats lived into senior years and I miss them terribly.
I have been retired from the Civil Service since 2013 and since been enjoying the freedom of home life but also travelling in the UK, Europe and USA, caring for friends pets (particularly cats) on a regular basis and it means so much.
Im proud to have plenty of positive feedback from the owners who’s pets I have cared for.. lots of animals but also the unconditional love pets give and in return I make certain they are looked after to keep them happy in their environment whilst owners are absent.
I find that my life is just complete with a pet in it.
I find caring for someone’s precious pet allows others a chance for a holiday and gives a peace of mind whilst they are away that their home and pet is treated with care and respect.
It is a privilege to be able to care for their adored pet in their absence. I regard myself as open, compassionate and sensible.
WHY I WANT TO HOUSE SIT
My passion is to travel and have done a fair amount already, meeting people and experiencing different cultures and locations. I have lived in a couple of unusual dwellings over the years which include a narrow boat also a wooden lodge next to a lake, enjoyed travel in my motor home but have now expanded my adventures whilst looking after pets along the way.
House sitting is a perfect way to mix these two worlds whilst offering freedom, flexibility and passion to meet homeowners requirements whilst keeping a neat safe secure home in their absence and caring for beloved pets which are always better staying in their own environment with familiar smells and routine instead of the unfamiliar surroundings of kennels. Having had dogs and cats all my life and lately owned 2 cats for nearly 20 years I know this is the best option.
These days however I am treating the service I give also as a bit of an income and charge £15 per day.
MY EXPERIENCE
I retired in 2013 from my time civil service job and after relocating to Cumbria I started a very different kind of life. This in included working for cleaning holiday properties, from apartments and cottages to larger guest accommodation. I sometimes had to welcome guests and also had to attend to their requirements during their stay.
I was also housekeeper of a large house, which I prepared for the owners or friends arrival for a stay, dealing with builders in their absence when it was requiring renovations and any other business on their behalf,
I lived in Keswick at the time and found myself also helping with dog walking for some of the locals in the town.
The service I offer is impeccable, I respect homes in my care as if they were my own, I am reliable and honest. I treat properties and possessions with respect, the pets in my care I regard as my own and all are treated with compassion and the utmost care.
Due to my background of employment I have been in a position of trust, responsibility and reliability.
Since I joined House sitters UK I have had a great time in lots of places in England but abroad also, and have proudly collected some great reviews along the way.
I have looked after cats, dogs, chickens, horses, tortoises and a budgie.
My abroad adventures up to now have taken me to Spain with 7 rescue cats and a ranch sit in Colorado USA with 3 cats and 4 horses which was a great experience. I have even returned on a couple of locations in the U.K. at the owners request. .. who have become friends.
I give this great service my usual dedication and looking forward to meeting all you homeowners and precious family pets
Andrea
