Mac & John looked after our anxious rescue Cocker Spaniel while we were away. We had not used house-sitters before and they put us at ease throughout, keeping in touch with monthly e-mails and even making time to travel to London to meet the family for a day ahead of time. By the time we went away they felt like old friends.

We had the pleasure of having Mac & John look after Lily our 11 yr old, never been left, Springer Spaniel. They are a lovely couple who put Lily & us at ease right away. Mac and John were able to house sit for us at very short notice. They cared for Juno and the cats very well, and certainly kept the house clean and tidy. There was a burst pipe whilst they were living in the house which was completely unexpected, but they dealt with the situation very calmly and we are grateful for their help in fixing the leak and tidying up!

We were so lucky that they were able to cover the holiday period and glad that they were able to combine their passion for canals with their stay at our home. Mac & John were simply perfect house and dog sitters. Pre -sit I was nervous as this was the first time leaving our 2 dogs for more than a few days and using a house sitting service.

John and Mac did a fabulous job of looking after my two cats , taking one to the vet for her injection when necessary.
They communicated with us while we were away several times to reassure us as this was our first experience of using housesitters.
The house was very clean on our return and the washing all done and both cats were very happy.
John and Mac you are both amazing.

I came home to a clean house, freshly mowed lawn and they even did the weeding without being asked. If you have the opportunity ... Mac and John did a brilliant job house sitting and looking after Mac, our black lab, and Ollie our cat. Mac had great outings with Mac and John and he made great friends with them. We couldn't have asked for better house sitters than Mac and John. Such lovely people - our dogs had an absolute ball with them and I think were sad to see them leave! They also had to take one of our cats to the emergency vet on the day we were due to get home.
The house was immaculate on our return and John had even identified and done a couple of odd jobs in the house!

I am so glad that Mac and John were available to do our first ever house sit. The whole process put us at ease and it was so lovely to go away knowing that our house and more importantly 3 dogs were going to be cared for . First time using housesitters uk and John and Mac certainly made it a fantastic experience. They looked after our home and dog amazingly. They kept a diary and took photos of our dog's adventures throughout our time away. It was so reassuring knowing we were leaving our dog in good hands. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend John and Mac.

We struck gold with our first house/pet sitting experience. Mac and John are very capable, friendly and professional. After meeting them we felt reassured that our home/chickens and dogs would be well looked after. They helped us understand what to look for in a house-sitter for the future. We returned to a clean and tidy house, a mopped kitchen floor, and 2 contented dogs who slept for the rest of the day. We would love to have them back should our dates coincide with theirs.

I can't speak highly enough about Mac and John, they are truly excellent sitters! It was great to meet them ahead of the sit and regular comms helped make things seamless. We could not have asked for kinder, more helpful, more conscientious carers for our house and dogs than Mac and John. Not only did they wear our two energetic collies out with wonderful long walks, but John fixed several electrical and other issues in the house and Mac made the kitchen sparkle. And on top of all that, John left home-made pies for us to just heat and eat! We could not recommend Mac and John more highly.

Honestly cant thank Mac and John for looking after my home, poochy and cat for 10 days. Their communication was amazing, they took lots of pics of their adventures with my dog and provided me with a day to day log of the adventures too. Mac & John were fantastic house sitters and took the best care of our puppy Efa. Their communication was quick and efficient and we were more than comfortable having them stay in our house. John even did some gardening and made our back gate dog proof which was definitely above and beyond!

We met beforehand and soon felt at ease that they would look after everything just fine and that is exactly what they did. What can you say about Mac and John except wonderfull ! Coming back from my holidays to find two happy dogs and a cat plus a lovely clean home nothing out of place and I'm not sure what they eat or cooked ,I can't recommend them enough they are two lovely people ! He was so well taken care off, he actually missed them when they had gone. Mac had even left us a journal of his daily activities. Mac and John left us yesterday having looked after our 3 labradors and home for 5 days. We returned home to find the dogs happy and clearly well looked after and our home as we had left it ....well, better than we left it actually!! They had even cut the lawns! Their bedding/towels had been washed and dried. Fresh milk, bread and some other provisions had been bought and left for us and also a lovely lasagne.

Mac and John went to the trouble and expense of staying locally the night before our departure so they could meet with us and the dogs before we left. It is clear they are dog lovers - this was the most important thing for us. Our labs are older dogs and Mac and John obviously have an understanding of what that means in terms of limitations and we were confident leaving our dogs in their care.
Mac and John left us a thank you card - but the thanks goes entirely to them. We would have them sit for us again without hesitation.

John and Mac are the answer to anyone who wants a house sitter. My dogs and cats had the time of their lives. The dogs were walked and walked, the cats looked after and our house and garden were left immaculatey. I could not recommend them more highly and I want them to come back next year!

It was our first time using this site so we were a little apprehensive but Mac and John exceeded our expectations and were great in every way. Their communication was quick and responsive and they clearly love animals (a 60Kg American Bulldog called Charlie in our case). They took time to find out about Charlie's character and even took pictures and kept a little diary of their time with him. That would have been more than enough but they even carried out some jobs around the house. We felt ... Mac & John stayed at our house for 10 days to look after our slightly mad 3 dogs. A cockerpoo who loves everyone, a paranoid Pomeranian who barks at everyone and everything and a 14 month old Akita who can't decide if he's meant to be the boss or be bossed!
When we arrived home, both the house and the dogs had been well looked after. We were able to see pictures of walks they all went on and could see just how relaxed the dogs were in the care of Mac & John.

What can we say??
This was our first time using a house sitter and the whole experience has been a very positive one. Mac and John are both lovely, genuine and considerate people who I would gladly have in my home again.
We left for almost two weeks, leaving 2 dogs, 2 Guineas and 2 fish to care for. We came home to lots of very happy pets and two very well walked and fussed over dogs!! The house was immaculate and John had even done a few odd jobs round the house for us! Thank you!!!

We were given a full run down of photos, diaries and days out our dogs had been on which was very reassuring for us to know how well they had been cared for! It was a real comfort to be able to leave the dogs in their own home and We didn't have any concerns at all about leaving them with Mac and John. The neighbours all spoke highly of our sitters which is nice to know!!
We would have them back tomorrow if needs be and hope to book again for next year's holidays. Thank you to you both again and hope we can keep in touch.

Mac & John are nothing less than magnificent.
Our dogs adore them, our cat adores them and our neighbours adore them, the garden and house looks fantastic, we can recommend them in an instance even though we want to keep them all for our selves. We hope that we will have a long and happy friendship with them and they are forever welcome at our home even when they are not housesitting.

Mac and John looked after my very energetic Staffie for a long weekend at the end of February. They had two meetings with her beforehand just to make sure both parties were happy with each other. I had one very tired but happy dog when I got back and I have already agreed 3 more sits with them for later in the year. They are a lovely couple and I would recommend them to anyone.

What can I say..... Mac and John were totally brilliant with our two dogs and two rabbits. Until now we've really worried about leaving our Golden Doodle as he suffers with anxiety when we leave him... we've already asked Mac & John to help us out again as the dogs were so chilled out when we returned.
Absolutely no hesitation in recommending them.

It was the first time I have used a house sitter when I have been away so I was a little apprehensive about it. Mac and John, however, took my dog, Ty, on lots of lovely walks (in spite of wind and rain) and looked after him very well.

Mac and John stayed in our home with our dogs whilst we were away on holiday for 10 days. This was the first time we had used a house sitter and we are so, so grateful that Mac and John chose to stay in our home.
Our dogs, like most peoples, are our pride and joy and entrusting someone else to look after them is sometimes a scary ordeal. Mac and John couldn't have made it any easier for us, and the pooches! Mac and John came to my house to look after my dogs and Chickens. I could not recommend them enough. They are so lovely and clearly love animals. 2 of my dogs are not very sociable with strangers, but really did take to Mac and John. It was great to leave my home and animals to such lovely people. On my arrival back home I was given a slide show of all the great walks and places they had visited while staying at my house with dolly my French bulldog having a great time in woods and pubs. ... MOREMac and John came to my house to look after my dogs and Chickens. I could not recommend them enough. This is the first time we have used House Sitters, so was understandably rather apprehensive.
We couldn't have been more put at ease by Mac and John who visited first to meet our two dogs, Rosie and Max.
We enjoyed a weekend away knowing our pets and house were in good hands.
When we returned the house was immaculate and the dogs even sulked for a few days! I think they missed Mac and John!
