Hello ! I'm new to house-sitting so I'm afraid I don't yet have any glowing reviews but I hope this won't put you off.
I have looked after pets and gardens for friends since I retired from social work five years ago, but this has mainly been in my local area so I'm excited about the possibility of combining these roles with the opportunity to explore parts of the UK that I don't know well.
I am primarily a cat-lover and we have always had at least one cat in our household but I have looked after our daughter's dog and, when our children were young, we had a succession of rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, chickens and stick insects ! I can't do long dog-walks at the moment as my knees aren't great, but my husband is good for a few miles.
I am also a keen gardener, allotment-holder and houseplant-tender and I would be very happy to add gardening and watering jobs to my list.
It might be just me, or me and my husband Chris, house-sitting, depending on whether it's a time of year when we can leave the allotment untended.
I can imagine it would be quite worrying to leave a beloved pet and a beautiful house in the care of a total stranger so I will be very willing to keep you in touch with photos and messages while you're away if this is something you would like.
I hope you'll give me a chance to prove my worth !
