Until last year, I had the most wonderful Springer Spaniel in the world--Walter the Wonder Dog. Since he passed, it's been my pleasure to enjoy the pets of others.

I grew up in the American Midwest, where we are known for our strong work ethic and responsible approach to life and others. My grandmother was from Wales, and I visit my extended family there as often as I can.

While growing up, we had all sorts of animals at different times. Besides dogs and cats, we had fish, ducks, guinea pigs, rabbits, and a turtle!
